Right now I can get the major networks via Clear QAM and some analog channels by connecting the cable straight from the wall into my TV, so they’re definitely unencrypted at least for now. Then, like an idiot, I tried different software, thinking I would just always be able to get the channels to scan, but I’ve never been able to since.

Hi Jon, This is the result of some kernel developers deciding it was a good idea to change the names of some popular functions, without any concern for the breakage it would cause with out of tree drivers or older kernels.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for replying. Be aware that the cable card version does not to ATSC over the airand the non-cable card version does not do encryption.

I know that one particular problem with this tuner is that they lately have been putting the HVR model in the box, which isn’t compatible with Linux. In response to a new hardware project KernelLabs is starting up, we have started to take a closer look at the recently merged ngene driver. The Homeruns just require an ethernet cable and can be stored away from the computer.
