Decent club that gets the ball out there. Been using this since inception and every year I tell myself it’s time for a new driver. The standard shaft is the Mitsubishi Diamana 83, but you can custom order either the Fujikura Speeder or Six shafts as well. I just bought this club, and based on what I am reading here I think I made the right choice. The r5 features a cc clubhead to help increase MOI and minimize the penalty in hitting shots off-center. The TaylorMade r5 Dual drivers incorporate design elements from the successful r7 Quad drivers in a bigger clubhead. Not one of them has had the consistency of distance and direction of the old favourite.

I found the left rough a few too many times with the draw setting.
I did not realize at the time what I had just bought because I did not realize that this club had a closed face specifically to adress this problem and hit it straight the first time I swung it, but now that I have corected the problem that was causing me to slice my Adams it seems that I am always hitting either a draw or a hook with the adjuust and am back to tylormade the adams for straighter drives and more distance.
Heavier weight on the inside of the club provides draw enhancement, heavier toe weight enhances a fade.

The r5 Dual TP is very forgiving and extremely easy to hit. Aside from size and the aforementioned moveable vs. The nice weighting and look of the club seemed taylomrade promote me to put a good swing on it.

To stop the fade all i do taylomade close my wrists a bit more on impact but to move forwards into my swing sooner thus the ball is hit with a squarer club face. On occations I hit the ground before I make contact with the ball. I could easily shape shots to fit the dogleg of the current hole.
I believe that somehow, I’m not getting the club head closed at impact. The R5 dual type N is made in heaven. What you really probably need to do is get it shortened as well.

Does anyone know if you can convert a Taylor Made r5 dual, type N driver to a type D, draw driver, by changing the weight scews? For a higher shot, set the two heaviest weights in the holes furthest from the club face, and for a lower ball flight, set taylormsde heaviest weights in the two holes closest to the club face.
